ABOUT THE SALTY LOCAL OYSTER BAR

The Salty Local Oyster Bar is a mobile oyster bar, shucking oysters for all kinds of events. We are Cape May locals, passionate about bringing the freshest oysters to your special occasions. Our mission is to elevate your event with this unique experience and the finest oysters, served with a touch of local flavor and hospitality.
Our Story:

Founded in the heart of Cape May, The Salty Local Oyster Bar started as a dream to share the ocean's bounty with our community. The founders, who have worked in the local restaurant/bar industry since their teenage years, noticed the popularity of oysters when the bar flooded with people during buck-a-shuck night. The business was born out of the realization that there was a need to bring oysters to local events.
"On top of working as a waitress I also work in the wedding industry as a makeup artist. I started to see all kinds of unique venders. We realized there wasn't such thing as bringing the oysters everyone loves to local events, so The Salty Local was born."
We have a natural love for the ocean and a commitment to providing excellent service for the locals visitors of our beach town, having grown up and worked. Starting this "homegrown" business, we continue to uphold our values by sourcing the highest quality oysters and delivering exceptional experiences at every event.
The name "The Salty Local" is a playful tribute to the brine of an oyster, as well as Cape May locals and their "salty" mood during the summer tourist season. All jokes though! We appreciate the "Shlocals" and their love for Cape May! Especially when it gets a little too quiet in the winter months, (a ghost town as we like to say.)
Sustainability Initiatives:
At The Salty Local Oyster Bar, we are dedicated to sustainability. We work closely with local oyster farms and prioritize eco-friendly practices to minimize our environmental impact. By partnering with responsible suppliers, we ensure that every oyster served is not only delicious but also part of a conscientious approach to preserving our coastal ecosystems.
